How do you summarise a career that spans more than four and a half decades in Australian Film, Television and Theatre. Ivar has appeared in countless Television productions including Australian favourites like the Sullivans, Blue Heelers, A Country Practice, Neighbours, Heartbreak High and most recently Harrow. However, it was Ivar's regular role as the dictatorial 'Barry Hyde' in Home & Away for which he is best known. Early film highlights include lead roles in The Plumber and Silver City, which earned him 'Best Actor' nominations.

Ivar's theatre career is just as illustrious, with his many roles in Shakespeare plays colouring his vocal work. Ivar's voice is rich in depth and tone. His ability to tell a story is supported by the many narrations he has recorded for SBS and the ABC.
