Jay James-Moody

Jay James-Moody is an award-winning actor, director, writer and producer.

Jay is the creator and Artistic Director of acclaimed boutique company Squabbalogic Independent Music Theatre, was a co-founder of Sydney’s Hayes Theatre Co, and was the inaugural programming producer of the Sydney Fringe Festival.

He is the writer of the biographical concerts Straight From The Hart and Broadway Reimagined, and co-wrote the  book of the original musicals Good Omens and The Dismissal.

Directing credits include Herringbone (with Michael Ralph), Straight From The Hart, Bring It On (for WAAPA), The Original Grease, Grey Gardens, Hello, Dolly! (with Dean Vince), Triassic Parq, Man Of La Mancha (GLUG Award, Best Musical), Bye Bye Birdie, Sondheim on Sondheim, The Drowsy Chaperone (Sydney Theatre Award, Best Director), Carrie, [title of show] (with Daniel Jacobs), Thrill Me, Forbidden Broadway, Reefer Madness, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, Tick…Tick... BOOM!, The Great American Trailer Park Musical and LadyNerd: A Cabaret.

He has produced all productions from Squabbalogic Independent Music Theatre since establishing the company in 2006. Squabbalogic is a resident company of the Seymour Centre.
